It was exactly three long months without rolling the ball on Spanish lawns. The spanish football has been absent since March 10 after the 27th round of the La Liga, where there was a confrontation between Real Sociedad and Eibar, which culminated in a 2-1 victory for Real Sociedad.

Now, the news about La Liga indicates the resumption of the sport this coming Thursday, June 11th, counting on the beautiful duel between Sevilla and Real Betis. According to the other information, the return of La Liga could only happen after a great care with the protocol developed by the guidelines and governmental entities together with the health authorities of Spain.

This past Monday (the 08th), a conference was held during the morning with representatives of the Spanish Championship detailing the path that the entity will take for this resumption.

The athletes involved with the sport and the coaching staff had about a month to adapt to this new reality of training routine and work.

“La Liga never pushed for the return of the competition. We work to follow various protocols according to the government of Spain. Isolated training, group training and only after collective training. We are very happy to say that during all these weeks of training there was no contagion" - Revealed the representative of La Liga in Brazil, Albert Castelló.

"Every night before training, the players received the instructions. In the first phase, each athlete trained with his own ball, on the field they could have only two professionals, in the gym the same thing. Each player received a bag with his training uniform for the next day and only changed at home, the locker rooms were closed".

The first instructions that players received during this period of isolation were to carry out the activities alone in their respective homes before resuming any activities with their clubs. Emphasizing that those involved had to pass several tests and exams.

Now we got to the good part, this Thursday's match between Sevilla and Real Betis is scheduled for 21:00 (GMT+1) at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, home of Sevilla.

As we know, the game will be played without fans, without handshaking and with restricted access only for players, coaches and other authorized personel.

This new perspective on the resumption of the Spanish Championship could be of great impact for the other leagues in the world. If everything really goes well in all those leagues that have decided to return, we can see the remaining championships returning much sooner.
