The resumption of professional sporting events in this first of June with the gates closed, boosted the activity of operators in the United Kingdom. According to the UK Department of Culture, Media and Sport, which had scheduled horse racing to resume on March 17th, it also returned yesterday (1st) in NewCastle.

The British Horseracing Authority's (BHA) initial proposal was to form 18 races during the first eight days of competition, together with the Royal Ascot for the 16th of June. The race limitation is quoted for only 12 athletes per race.

Also announced was the return of billiards in the country, together with the Championship League, in Milton Keynes, on this last day.

It should be noted that last Thursday, the return had been announced on the 17th of June, of the Premier League in football, together with the second division that intends to resume by the 20th of June.

There is still extreme caution with all the safety and health surveillance protocols disclosed so that everything can be put in order, again. The sports area will have individual trips, screening before athletes enter, social distance and limiting the use of changing rooms among those involved.

There is also the compliance with the competition rules to indicate an official place for the inspection of compliance with the measures imposed by the Health Organizations.

Oliver Dowden, current UK Secretary of Culture, Media and Sport, pointed out "This guidance provides the safe framework for sport to resume competitions behind closed doors. It is now up to individual sports to confirm that they can comply with these protocols and decide when it is appropriate to restart”.

"Football, tennis, horse racing, Formula 1, cricket, golf, rugby, pool and other sports are all ready to return to our screens soon" - Oliver added.

British Horseracing Authority has been suspended since 17/03

"The British Horseracing Authority has confirmed that all horse racing in Britain will be suspended from tomorrow on" - said the statement posted on Tuesday morning, March 17th by BHA

There were long weeks of discussion about the return of horseracing in the UK. The British Horseracing Authority's executive director, Nick Rust, already cultivated the idea of returning to the sport in May, however, there were some divergences in being successful about the resumption of the sport in the country. Everything indicates that now it's on.
