Life

After growing up in Illinois, Greenstein ended up graduating from Bogan High School. After that, young Barry, at the time, studied computer science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Afterwards, Greenstein still studied for a PhD in mathematics, but ended up not going ahead with his project.

In his lifetime, Greenstein worked at startup Symantec for a very noble reason on his part. According to information in his own book, poker brought him profits, but not a very positive image to be able to adopt his stepchildren. So Greenstein decided to work at Symantec so he could adopt his stepchildren. However, in 1991 he ended up leaving the company to focus on his poker career.

Furthermore, it is known that Greenstein and his stepson Joe Sebok created PokerRoad, a website that offers poker strategy and entertainment services. In total, Greenstein has two children and four stepchildren.

Career in Poker

Greenstein's first appearances in poker were during all three editions of the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament, as well as being present in the seven editions of GSN's High Stakes Poker series. After these appearances, Greenstein ended up being a stamp on the series involving championship poker. During the making of the three seasons of Poker After Dark on NBC, the grinder was also present.

On his journey, Greenstein took home two World Poker Tour titles; Fifth Annual Jack Binion World Poker and the 2006 WPT Invitational. In addition, Greenstein has also won two WPT Special Edition titles, the WPT Father and Sons Tournament, 2006 World Poker Finals and the WPT Poker by The Book: Chapter 2. So, in 2008, Greenstein decided that he would start donating his earnings to charities.

But it should be noted that, like any other player who has been part of the "Poker Star" here at the Betting Academy, Greenstein has also won titles in the World Series of Poker. In this case, the grinder owns three WSOP bracelets, but has participated in several tournaments in the poker series.

During these periods of participation in the World Series of Poker, Greenstein made good money in six events, which made him take the runner-up to "WSOP Player of the Year", only behind Erick Lindgren in 2008. In 2011, Greenstein made an appearance at five WSOP events, where he again took home free kicks.

However, Greenstein's first bracelet went to his house in 2004, when the grinder was champion of the $5,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw tournament and cashed in the sum of $296,200. The following year, the American won the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha edition and won $128,505 and another bracelet. Ultimately, in 2008, Greenstein won the $1,500 Razz event and pocketed the $157,619 jackpot and his third WSOP bracelet.
